I am often asked which movies I would give a perfect rating to so I decided to finally make a list. However, there are so many films out there that I couldn’t possibly narrow them all down. I have decided to make an on-going list for movies I’ve watched this year that I would give a 10/10 rating to.
This should go without saying, but it’s the internet so let me give this post a preface. These are movies that I personally enjoyed and would call damn near perfect. My opinion is my own and if you disagree with my selections, that is your choice.
Please keep in mind that this list is ongoing, is subject to change, and is no particular ranking order. So if you see a movie that interests you I recommend taking a screenshot or renting it tonight.

Almost Perfect Movies I Watched in 2024
1. Crash (2004)
It’s one of those films with an all star cast. All the stories intertwine and that’s one of my favorite writing styles for books or movies. Is styles the right word? I’m not sure, but anyway this movie is inspired by true events. It was nominated for 6 Academy Awards. Here’s my warning that you may cry.
2. Law Abiding Citizen (2009)
Have you ever watched a movie and found yourself rooting for the villain? This is one of those movies. The steak scene alone makes this movie worth the watch. The internet is divided on if the ending makes or breaks the movie. What do you think? Personally, I wouldn’t change a thing.
3. Casino (1995)
I should have known I was in for a ride when I saw the movie involved the big 3: Robert De Niro, Joe Pesci
and Martin Scorsese. I love an insane movie based on true events. Martin Scorsese sure knows how to tell a story. This movie will leave you speechless. The fashion in this movie was spectacular to say the least. Every scene makes you lean inches closer because you don’t want to miss a thing.
4. Man on Fire (2004)
Denzel Washington and Dakota Fanning are the film duo you didn’t know you needed. Denzel is her body guard named John Creasy who is an ex CIA operative. She is the daughter of a businessman who gets kidnapped. They could put these two in 10 more movies together and I would watch every single one.
5. The Pianist (2002)
This film was phenomenal. I watched this while drinking probably too much wine but I’m certain it would’ve been just as moving while sober. I highly recommend watching it. Not only is it based on a book, but it’s based on the true story of Wladyslaw Szpilman.
6. Interstellar (2014)
I avoided watching this movie for years thinking it was just another space movie. I was wrong. This movie is a cinematic masterpiece. I have to watch it at least 3 more times to fully grasp everything that’s going on. If you’ve never seen this movie, rent it tonight and invite over a friend. You are in for an emotional ride. If nothing else, the movie is beautiful on screen and the soundtrack is magnificent.
7. Bridge to Terabithia (2007)
Josh Hutcherson should’ve got an Oscar for this movie and I stand by that. This is movie you can watch with your children unlike most of my previous suggestions. Here’s your warning, you may cry. It is based on a book of the same name.
8. How the Grinch Stole Christmas (2000)
I debated with myself about adding this movie to the list. Then I considered the fact that everyone I know still makes random quotes from this movie despite it being over twenty years old. Jim Carrey did his big one with this Christmas classic.
9. Life is Beautiful (1997)
If you’re an adult which I hope you are since you’re on this blog; you already know how this story ends. You cannot escape the gut wrenching feeling as this movie proceeds, but you cannot bring yourself to look away.
10. The Green Mile (1999)
One of my all time favorite movies. My first time watching this movie was over a decade ago and I randomly found it channel surfing on cable. I saw Tom Hanks and immediately decided to give it a chance. Nothing could’ve prepared me for this movie but I’m so happy I gave it a watch. This is the kind of movie you watch when you just need to feel something.
